We have our first fresh crop Ethiopian of the year at Elm, Gogogu Bekaka. This coffee comes to us from the Uraga district of Guji, a coffee growing region that’s undergone huge transformations in the last decade. Previously unknown and often relabeled Yirgacheffe, which is just over the mountains from Uraga, this region is now known for producing world class washed coffees, worthy of their own differentiation.

The Gogogu Bekaka washing station is managed by Kedir Jabril, brother of Yabitu Koba producer Feku, who meticulously processes his coffees, soaking the coffee seeds for 60 hours before washing and drying them very carefully to maintain bean integrity.
