Espresso capsule. Most people associate this word with "mountains of rubbish, bad for the environment and an actor". But there are also alternatives that are a lot better than the original. The special thing about the capsules: They do not contain any plastic or aluminum. Instead, they consist of bio-based raw materials and are industrially compostable *. The capsules contain our certified organic espresso called “Natura Bio”. It is the elegant and lovely one of the espressos. It is characterized by its strikingly pronounced sweetness with notes of honey, orange blossom and dark grapes. Thanks to the airtight capsules, the aromas are retained for at least 18 months.

Natura Bio combines 100% arabica beans from two different growing countries. In compliance with the quality guidelines of the German Roaster Guild, we roast the beans by type and at low temperatures of 219 to 226 ° C using the traditional drum method.

* Industrial compostability certified by TÜV AUSTRIA S0748 and DIN CERTCO 7P0657 and 9G0095. Please find out more about proper disposal from your local waste disposal company.

It is easy to explain that we use the two words “craft” and “enjoyment” in our slogan. The drum roasting process that we use to roast our coffee beans is actually still a craft, and every coffee lover associates enjoyment with a “Let's have a drink”.

The third reason is our city's history of enjoyment. At the beginning of the 20th century, Dresden was considered the center of the German chocolate industry. Contrary to the longstanding opinion that the Swiss invented milk chocolate, a recipe from 1839 shows that a Dresden chocolate entrepreneur was the inventor. The filter bag also comes from Dresden. The inventor was a housewife whose name everyone will know: Melitta Bentz.

She made the “original filter” from the blotting paper in her son Willy's exercise book. On June 20, 1908, she successfully registered her invention with the Imperial Patent Office in Berlin.

In doing so, she revolutionized coffee culture. A street was also named after her, and as luck would have it, Melitta-Bentz-Straße is only a two-minute walk from our coffee roastery.
