What Is Bicerin Coffee & Why Should One Try It?

Bicerin or Turin coffee is a national drink for residents and guests of the administrative region of Italy called Piedmont. In the province of Turin (the administrative center of Piedmont), at the beginning of the 18th century, the recipe for the fantastic coffee-chocolate dessert Bicerin was born. Interesting, but the Turin liqueur, made from chocolate and Piedmont hazelnuts paste, has the same name. Coffee is not part of the liqueur, but they both are something Piedmont is proud of.

Ingredients

To make Bicerin coffee, you need:

  • 1 portion of espresso;
  • 50 ml of milk or cream (≈20% fat);
  • 50 g of dark chocolate;
  • 100 ml of whipped cream.

Each of the ingredients should take 1/3 cup.

Step By Step Technology

  1. Pour chocolate with milk and melt in a water bath.
  2. Whip the cream to the foam.
  3. Make espresso.
  4. Pour the hot chocolate into a preheated glass.
  5. Carefully pour a layer of coffee (on the blade of a knife).
  6. Lay the whipped cream on top.
  7.  Sprinkle with chocolate chips.

Bicerin coffee is a layered drink. You can appreciate all its visual charm only in a glassy cup, preferably with a handle.

Why Should You Try It?

Bicerin was relevant in the morning, and ordering it in the afternoon, for some reason, was considered unacceptable. Because of its diverse range of flavors, the drink gives a charge of energy in the morning and throughout the day. And yet, the presence of high-calorie chocolate and cream can not only pamper the sweet tooth but also saturate the human body with the necessary amount of glucose and fat.

This is just a guess. And the statement is that Bicerin coffee is an incredibly delicious dessert you should try!
