We first opened up in the old riding hall on Magasinsgatan 17A in April 2010. What started off as a, for us, large roastery and brand new bakery combined with a bread shop and brew bar in 2010 - transformed into a, for us, small roastery and bakery where our bakers and cooks gathered in a small space and made bread, pastries, sandwiches, soups and much more for all our cafes. It also transformed from a bread shop and brew bar into one of Gothenburg’s most visited cafes. It became a roastery with not enough space for all the green coffee and a too small packing station. It became the heart of da Matteo. A place for sharing our love of the craftsmanship that is baking and roasting. A loved meeting spot for many Gothenburgers and a place tourists discovered and began to love equally.
