Each batch consists of coffee from hundreds of farmers from the area around the washing station (factory). The workers at the factory sort the coffee berries before they go into production. The coffees are treated traditionally, before being washed and sorted into channels, and dried on raised beds. The farmers mainly grow SL28 and SL34, but as with almost all Kenyan cooperations, it can be a mix of everything. Other common varieties are K7, Ruiru 11 and now also Batian.
