The properties fine-spicy, nutty-sweet and dark chocolate describe the voluminous aromas of the coffee. This semi-washed (semi-dry) coffee is an Arabica coffee from the island of Sumatra. Its cultivation area is in the north of the island of Sumatra, in the Gayo highlands. The cultivation area extends over the Aceh region and the villages of Takengon and Bener Meriah. There the coffee is grown at an altitude of 1,200 to 1,500 meters.

The coffee is made by the Ketiara coffee cooperative. 90% women work in this coffee cooperative, which is run by women and founded in 2008. It has also been certified organic and fair trade since 2012.

Today, Ketiara is one of the most important coffee producers in Sumatra. Organic coffee is grown at 15 - 20 ° C and under naturally growing shade trees. The coffee is harvested by selective hand picking and dried in the sun.

  • We roast for at least 15 minutes, up to a maximum of 195 ° C in the drum roast, cooling only with air (no water cooling). We grant insight into our craft production at any time.
  • With us, single-variety is also 100% single-variety.
  • We mark our coffee more clearly than German law requires.
  • As part of inclusion, we enable people with disabilities to participate in life and work in our normal everyday life.
